Can you do makeup all ethinicities?

Absolutely! We are seasoned makeup artists who have the experience of working with men and women of all ethnicities.

How long have you been a professional makeup artist?

A.

We have been in the beauty industry for over 20 years combined. We have worked for numerous companies and brands like Sephora, M.A.C Cosmetics, and Givenchy Beauty. We have had extensive training with brands like Smashbox, Make Up For Ever, Marc Jacobs, NARS Cosmetics and more.

Christina has done New York Fashion Week and has worked on numerous fashion shows in Austin and Brigette has worked on numerous Austin-based films and movies. We both have worked with Jennifer Nicole Lee, Celebrity Fitness Model for her Jolt of JNL press release that was featured in Oxygen Magazine and RX Magazine.

Something came up and I need to cancel my appointment?

A.

Things come up and we totally get it. Just make sure to cancel your scheduled service seven (7) days prior or you will be responsible for the amount of services agreed upon in our contract. If cancellations are made 48 hours prior to your reserved appointment, 100% of the expected cost of service will be billed to you as per contract terms and conditions.

What methods of payments do you accept?

We accept all major Debit and Credit Cards and PayPal.

Q?

Do you travel? What other travel-related expenses will I need to pay for?

A.

Yes we travel as far as you need us to be. If you are within a 10 mile radius of Austin, Texas we do not charge a travel fee. Depending on how far we need to travel, the additional travel charges will include gas, hotel stay, food expenses for the day.

Do you offer hair services?

A.

Yes we do! We offer both hair and makeup services. We also do a la carte services if you want either hair or makeup. We will work with what fits your needs.

Do you have experience with mature/ethnic/acne skin types?

A.

Yes. We specialize finding the right match whether it’ll be your skin tone or skin type. We love and have experience with working with many clients with mature, ethnic and acne skin types and we have a full range of products to prepare delicate, mature, sensitive and acne-prone skin before makeup application to achieve the best results.

What if I’m not used to wearing makeup?

A.

We will work with you to ensure you look your absolute best. If you are unsure about makeup, we can work together to create a look that enhances your natural beauty until you are satisfied.

What happens if I cry/sweat?

A.

Not to worry, everything we use is water resistant or waterproof. Simply dab your eyes or forehead with a tissue and you’ll be back to glam.

Do you sell makeup?

A.

As of right now, Luxe and Lotus does not sell makeup but we are more than happy to recommend products we love and where you can purchase them.

How long will my makeup last?

A.

Your makeup will last all day (12-15 hours). The airbrush makeup will last up to 15 hours depending on the weather conditions. Of course, you will need to touch-up with blotting sheets or blotting powder and touch up your lips throughout the day.

Do you do tattoo cover-up’s?

A.

Yes. We love doing cover-up’s and use special Airbrush makeup made for covering tattoos. Airbrush makeup is non-transferable and we top it off with waterproof sealant. We also do cover-up’s for body acne, stretch marks, and uneven skin.

Do you use airbrush makeup?

A.

YES. We know that airbrush makeup feels amazing, lasts longer and is never cakey. We use the brand Luminess Air for all of our airbrushing. This service is available upon request.

What makeup brands to you use? Are they good for photography?

A.

Here at Luxe and Lotus, we use professional-grade makeup brands like Make Up For Ever, Laura Mercier, NARS, M.A.C Cosmetics, Smashbox, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Urban Decay, Givenchy, Ben Nye, Mehron, Luminess Air and More. All of the makeup we use are photograph friendly and will photograph flawlessly. If you have a brand preference, just let us know and we’ll accommodate you as much as we can.

Can you help me with coordinating a timeline?

A.

Of course we can! Once all of the services have been decided upon, the timeline will be tailored to your event and your needs.

Can I meet with you for a consultation before I book?

A.

We would love to meet with you for a consultation. You can ask all the questions you may have and we can get to know one another a bit and discuss the details of your service. If you live out of town we can schedule a phone or Skype consultation, too. It will take no longer than 45 minutes.

Will you take before and after photos at my service?

A.

Yes. Before and after photos help you see the difference that makeup and/or hair can make. We will keep the photos on file for reference if you are doing a pre-wedding trial. With your consent, we will use photos taken during the service on our website as well as on our social media. But that’s only if you give us the ok. 🙂

May I do a pre-wedding trial before I commit?

Absolutely! We understand how critical wedding makeup and hair is and we want you to be 100% comfortable with your decision. To book your trial and check our availability, click here.

When should I book my wedding makeup and hair trial?

A.

The best time to book your wedding makeup and/or hair trial is approximately one to six months before your wedding. All trials will take place at the comfort of your home or anywhere you’re comfortable with having us.

I love your style! When should I book my makeup service?

A.

We would love for you to book your service as soon as you have the date. If you are booking for a bridal/wedding party service, most brides book us 6-12 months in advance to secure the day. If you are interested in working with us, contact us as soon as you can to find for open availability.

How do I book you?

A.

To book us for your next event, simply go to our contact us page and fill out the form there. We require a 25% non-refundable deposit and a signed e-contract in order to reserve your event.

Do you come to me for my makeup service?

A.

Yes. Luxe and Lotus offers an on-the-go beauty service. We come to you and your location on the day of your scheduled appointment. Travel fees may apply if we need travel 10 miles outside of Austin, Texas.
